The Veterinarians

Dr. John Cunningham, DVM |
 |
|
Dr. Cunningham:
Owner and founder of Highland Veterinary Hospital. He
is certified by the State Board of Examiners to practice veterinary
medicine in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida, and Washington, DC.
Since the opening of
the hospital in 1982, the goal has been to handle the animals as if
they were our own and to start with the simplest treatment approach first.
If that does not work successfully, we can always increase the intensity of
the medical therapy as needed.
After many years of
veterinary practice, this philosophy has served our patients and their
owners well. Please feel free to call us to discuss any questions you may
have. |

Dr. Michael
Wise, DVM
|
|
Dr. Wise: Ultrasonographer. He practiced General Veterinary Medicine
from 1972-1978 and was a Radiology Consultant from 1978- 1981.
He has been a consultant to multiple veterinary practices and the
National Aquarium in Baltimore. Dr. Wise has been with Highland
Veterinary Hospital since 1996. |

Dr. Toni Price,
DVM |
| Dr.
Price: Surgeon. She has practiced General Veterinary Medicine for
21 years and general surgery for 12 years. Dr. Price is licensed in Maryland and
Washington, D.C. She has been with Highland Veterinary Hospital since
2005. |

Dr.
Karen Settle, DVM |
|
Dr. Settle: Staff Veterinarian. Dr. Karen Settle grew up in
Massachusetts and received a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the
University of Connecticut. She then went on to the University of Florida
where she received her DVM degree.
She practiced small animal medicine in northern Florida for 13 years before
moving to Italy with her family. Dr. Settle then moved to Maryland and began working at Highland Veterinary Hospital in March 2008. Dr. Settle has
been married for 16 years, has 2 children, a three-legged cat, and a
hermit crab. |

The members of the Highland Veterinary Staff are always
